Want a hands-on education in fisheries?
Students at UMM get hands on experiences from day one. The First Year seminar that is usually taken is the Salmon Conservation Projects course, where students are in the field working on restoration projects with people from state or federal agencies, or from local non-profit organizations. The projects include stream assessment, stream connectivity, or other habitat restoration. Field based work will continue through your academic career, and can lead to research projects or internships. The course work will prepare you for a number of job options in the fisheries area.
