The Fullers

001 Deus. Adam and Eve, this is the place
002 That I haue graunte you of my grace
003 To haue your wonnyng in.
004 Erbes, spyce, frute on tree,
005 Beastes, fewles, all that ye see
006 Shall bowe to you, more and myn.
007 This place hight paradyce,
008 Here shall your joys begynne;
009 And yf that ye be wyse,
010 Frome thys tharr ye never twyn.

011 All your wyll here shall ye haue,
012 Lykyng for to eate or sayff
013 Fyshe, fewle or fee;
014 And for to take at your owen wyll
015 All other creatours also theretyll,
016 Your suggettes shall they bee.
017 Adam, of more and lesse,
018 Lordeship in erthe here graunte I the;
019 Thys place that worthy is,
020 Kepe it in honestye.

021 Looke that ye yoem ytt wetterly;
022 All other creatours shall multeply,
023 Ylke one in tender hower.
024 Looke that ye bothe saue and sett
025 Erbes and treys; for nothyng lett,
026 So that ye may endower
027 To susteyn beast and man,
028 And fewll of ylke stature.
029 Dwell here yf that ye cann,
030 This shall be your endowre.

031 Adam. O lorde, lovyd be thy name,
032 For nowe is this a joyfull hame
033 That thowe hais brought vs to,
034 Full of myrthe and solys faughe,
035 Erbes and trees, frute on haugh,
036 Wyth spysys many one hoo.
037 Loo, Eve, nowe ar we brought
038 Bothe vnto rest and rowe,
039 We neyd to tayke no thought,
040 But loke ay well to doo.

041 Eue. Lovyng be ay to suche a lord,
042 To vs hais geven so great reward
043 To governe bothe great and small,
044 And mayd vs after his owen read,

046 Emonges these myrthes all.
047 Here is a joyfull sight
048 Where that wee wonn in shall;
049 We love the, mooste of myght,
050 Great God, that we on call.

051 Deus. Love my name with good entent
052 And harken to my comaundement,
053 And do my byddyng buxomly:
054 Of all the frute in parradyce,
055 Tayke ye therof of your best wyse
056 And mayke you right merry.
057 The tree of good and yll,
058 What tyme you eates of thys
059 Thowe speydes thyself to spyll,
060 And be brought owte of blysse.

061 All thynges is mayd, man, for thy prowe,
062 All creatours shall to the bowe
063 That here is mayd erthly;
064 In erthe I mayke the lord of all,
065 And beast vnto the shall be thrall,
066 Thy kynd shall multeply.
067 Therefore this tree alone,
068 Adam, this owte-take I;
069 The frute of it negh none,
070 For an ye do, then shall ye dye.

071 Adam. Alas lorde, that we shuld do so yll,
072 Thy blyssed byddyng we shall fulfyll
073 Bothe in thought and deyd;
074 We shall no negh thys tre nor the bugh,
075 Nor yit the fruyte that thereon groweth
076 Therewith oure fleshe to feyd.

077 Eue. We shall do thy byddyng,
078 We haue none other neyd;
079 Thys frute full styll shall hyng,
080 Lorde, that thowe hays forbyd.

081 Deus. Looke that ye doe as ye haue sayd,
082 Of all that there is hold you apayd,
083 For here is welthe at wyll.
084 Thys tre that beres the fruyte of lyfe,
085 Luke nother thowe nor Eve thy wyf
086 Lay ye no handes theretyll.
087 For-why it is knowyng
088 Bothe of good and yll,
089 This frute but ye lett hyng
090 Ye speyd yourself to spyll.

091 Forthy this tree that I owt-tayke,
092 Nowe kepe it grathly for my sayke,
093 That nothyng negh it neyre;
094 All other at your wyll shall be,
095 I owte-take nothyng but this tree,
096 To feyd you with in feare.
097 Here shall ye leyd your lyffe
098 With dayntys that is deare;
099 Adam, and Eve thy wyfe,
100 My blyssyng haue ye here.
