GIS courses at UMM stress hands-on, service learning, and students do projects for real-world clients. All courses are available in online or hybrid formats, in addition to traditional on-campus day courses. So you don't need to quit your day job to add to your skills.
GIS will enhance studies in environmental science, community studies, marine biology, economics, or other majors. Courses are also open to students already in the workforce wanting to add to their professional skills. The GIS Laboratory and Service Center is equipped with powerful computers and servers, as well as the most up-to-date, industry standard software. We also have large-format, professional quality printers, a digitizing tablet, and high precision GPS receivers.
