Learning GIS at UMM
GIS courses at UMM stress hands-on, service learning, and students often do projects for real-world clients. GIS will enhance studies in environmental science, community studies, marine biology, economics, or other majors. Courses are also open to students already in the workforce wanting to add to their professional skills. The GIS Laboratory and Service Center is equipped with powerful computers and the most up-to-date ArcGIS software, the industry standard. We also have large-format, professional quality printers, a digitizing tablet, and highly accurate GPS receivers.
