The services are available the following times:

Monday: 10:30a.m. through 6p.m.
Wednesday: 10:30a.m. through 6pm
Thursday: 9a.m. through 4p.m.

*Please Note: Counseling Services are not available during academic breaks.

Counseling Services

Individual counseling gives you the opportunity to discuss any concerns you are having in a confidential setting. The counseling services at UMM are short term with an emphasis on finding immediate solutions to your concerns. The goal is to give you easily accessible services so that your personal and academic life is as healthy as possible.

Students seek counseling for a number of reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Friends and Relationships
  • Academic Difficulties
  • Trauma
  • Adapting to College Life
  • Isolation, Loneliness
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Financial Worries
  • Family Issues
  • Gender, Race, and General Identity Issues
  • Alcohol and Substance Abuse

Eligibility

Students enrolled in 6 or more credits of a matriculated program are eligible for professional and confidential short term counseling (up to 5 sessions per semester). Students can make an appointment by contacting Julie Millay, Administrative Assistant, at: 255-1470. Even if a student is referred by a faculty/staff person, the student should make the appointment her/himself.
