Coordinator of Continuing & Distance Education
The University of Maine at Machias invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Continuing and Distance Education to provide overall leadership, coordination, and student support of the University’s programs in support of distance and adult learners. Responsibilities fall across two broad areas: (1) distance and continuing education program development, including, scheduling, marketing, instructional design, and enrollment & retention assessment; and (2) directly advise and support online and adult learners. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and in close collaboration with multiple university and community constituents, this position integrates a creative, entrepreneurial business approach with UMM’s academic mission as a student-centered environmental liberal arts college. This is a regular, full-time, represented professional position that includes a comprehensive benefits package. The normal hiring salary range for this position is $35,183 to $41,047, commensurate with skills and experience (Job Family 18, Salary Grade 03).
Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education or student support fields, or a Bachelor’s degree and four years’ experience in adult education, advising, and/or distance education. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated success in academic advising or program planning and experience in supporting adult and distance learners.
