Book Club Launched at UMM with Author Cathie Pelletier
MACHIAS, Maine – The University of Maine at Machias will launch a new book club led by Maine author Cathie Pelletier starting Thursday, March 6. The book club is free and open to the public and will run every other Thursday on the UMM campus.
Pelletier, an award-winning novelist from Allagash, is serving as UMM’s first Visiting Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing in Residence this semester. She is the author of ten novels, eight of which are under her own name. Her 11th adult novel is forthcoming in 2014, and her first middle-grade novel, The Summer Experiment, will be published this spring.
Each book club session will focus on a single book with the author participating in person or via Skype.

The book club meetings will be held in room 234 of Torrey Hall at 7 p.m.
