First UMM Clippers’ Fundraiser Golf Tournament a Success
The University of Maine at Machias Athletics Department held its first
Fundraiser Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 24 – and it was a success.
Hosted at Barren View Golf Course in Jonesboro, the tournament drew
eight teams from around the area. Playing a three-person scramble
format, the winning team was Lenny Espling, Earl Tracy and Brad Prout
with a score of 64.
Second place went to Steven Cates, Mike Porter and Mike Ferguson with a
score of 66. Finishing third, with a score of 67, were Jarred
Sternbergh, Darren Prout and Brac Brady.
The tournament also highlighted several contests: Winning the closest
to the pin on hole No. 2 was Brad Prout. Andy Anderson got the ball
closest to the pin on hole No. 5, and Ed Boland won the long drive
contest on hole 3.
